Share with a friend how MPT has changed your life and how happy you are. Invite all your favorite people to learn about how misinformed investors are and how they too can accomplish their dreams.  Help your friends STOP fighting the market!

This 75 min. movie is about untruths in the financial industry and how investing with broker and financial planners can be like navigating through a dense fog.

Do your friends really know what is going on with their hard earned money?  Who is looking out for them?  How do your friends protect themselves and their money?

Along your journey you have learned that by investing, using MPT and worldwide institutional asset class funds you will not have these kind of worries. You are in the only Nobel Prize winning investment strategy that is proven to reduce your risk and provide market returns.  You have also chosen an investment objective that has a known amount of risk and you are protected from the many traps that unsuspecting investors fall prey to. STOP JUNK MAIL!

Over 4 million tons of junk mail are produced in the U.S. each year. Not only is this a waste of resources, it is a huge energy drain to produce, deliver and recycle. There are things you can do to help reduce the amount of junk mail you receive.

Credit Card Offers - This is one of the biggest producers of junk mail. To stop receiving offers, visit https://www.optoutprescreen.com and opt out. This will be effective for Equifax, Trans Union, Experian and Innovis credit agencies.

Catalogs - The most effective method is to call the catalog sender and ask them to remove your name from their list. If you want to remove your name from all catalog mailing lists, send an email to Abacus Catalog Alliance. Signing up permanently halts the catalog mailings from association members (which is a bulk of what you receive). Email abacusoptout@epsilon.com with your full name and current address.

Direct Mail - You can stop receiving direct mail from members of the Direct Marketing Association for 5 years for a cost of only $1 by visiting https://www.dmachoice.org/MPS/proto1.php . Another option that's free is ProQuo.com which will help you remove your name from lists of coupons & weekly circulars, catalogs, marketing lists & data brokers and telemarketing lists. Another free service is from GreenDimes.com. Not only is it free, they'll GIVE you a dollar and plant trees.

DEDUCTIBILITY OF ADVISORY FEES

A few clients have mentioned their tax preparer will not deduct all their advisory fees, so we contacted Frank, our own personal and business tax preparer and asked him the question.

There is an IRS code that states that tax free and tax deferred retirement accounts may not have their advisory fees deducted if they are taken directly from the retirement account. To allow them to take internal advisory fees as a deduction would be like a double deduction. In fact, in our research, we found that having fees deducted from your IRA or Roth is actually the preferred way to pay your advisory fees, as there is NO 2% floor and 100% of it is paid with pre-tax monies.

The bottom line is: If you want your retirement account advisory fees to be paid with retirement monies and not deductible, do nothing different. If you want your retirement account advisory fees to be deductible on your 1040, they need to be paid separately, outside of the retirement account, however it still needs to be determined how that can be accomplished.

We have requested Matrix to work with TCA (Trust Company of America) to determine if and how that can be done. If you are interested and would like to learn what they decide, please contact Lynn and let her know you would like to be put on the list to contact, once Matrix and TCA make their determination. We believe they might allow you to pay your fees with a personal check, charge them to a credit card, or possibly have all the fees come from a taxable account.

If your tax preparer will not deduct any of your taxable advisory fees (fees beyond your 2% floor), you need a different tax preparer. Take a list of all your taxable account advisory fees from previous years to your new tax preparer and claim them all on your next (2008)1040.

TCA STATEMENT REALIZED LOSSES OR GAINS

If you moved a Matrix account to the new Abundance Free Market Funds (FMF) in the first quarter of 2008, your 3/31/08 TCA statement will show you have a Realized Loss or Gain. Because the market was different the day your account moved to the FMF than now, the Realized amount is different than your Net Change in Market Value number.  We requested you to move your accounts quickly, so you could capture the down market and be taxed on smaller amounts.

If your account is a taxable account, remember to claim the Realized Loss on your 2008 Federal taxes. Retirement accounts are already tax free or tax deferred and no losses may be claimed.

Your TCA statement Net Change in Market Value represents the value of your account as of 3/31/08.This is a different number than the Realized Loss or Gain number, as the market has changed value since your account moved to the FMF's. The difference between the two numbers is how much the market has changed since the move to the FMFs.

Do not be concerned. You are in the MPT "boat" and we are riding the waves of the market. Some of the troughs of the waves are higher and some are lower. You are in the enviable position of owning the whole market, being prudently diversified and appropriately allocated for the long haul. Just do what you do best - ignore the markets and go back to your favorite hobby. Don't worry, have fun!
