2006 Newsletters


FREEDOM PARTY: Thank you to the many clients who attended.  The sharing between clients was fun, and the food was terrific!  We also enjoyed visiting with your children and grandchildren. Thanks again for helping us celebrate the sale of our building. Now that the building is sold, we will have more parties, just stay tuned!

REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTUIONS:
 Congratulations to our 70 year old clients!  Now that you are 70 the IRS wants its share of your IRA.  Do not wait until you are 70.5 years old to start taking your IRA distributions, because then you will be taxed on two distributions the same year (one in April and then again in December).  Joyce will gladly do a RMD calculation for you every year.  Mark your calendar to call her in January.

 

ANNUAL APPOINTMENTS:  We prefer you come to the client classes and are phasing out annual appointments in lieu of classes. If you do not attend the Client Classes, please call Lynn to make your Annual Appointment with your Wealth Coach.  Casual dress is the rule.  Grand Rapids area clients meet in their homes, Wed PM. – Fri AM.  Plymouth clients meet at Phyllis’ home, Mon. – Wed. AM or your home. Let Lynn or Maria know when you call.  If you are attending the Client Classes, you may still make an Annual Appointment; however you will receive the same information plus much more at the classes.  Remember, we will gladly meet with you anytime you desire.  Just call.

 

LEAVE NO MESSES!  We need a copy of your new and updated legal documents. If they need to be updated, make it your Fall 2006 goal and JUST DO IT! Your heirs will appreciate your thoughtfulness! When you go to your estate planning attorney to sign your docs, please ask for an additional signed copy, for WWC.  Or, we can make a copy of your signed originals.  Do NOT leave a signed copy with your attorney.  Give an extra signed copy to your personal representative, as that allows your heirs flexibility.  Maybe they do not want to use the attorney who drafted the document.  If you need an attorney referral, please call Joyce or Lynn for an Estate Planning Atty. referral sheet.

 

MATRIX UNIQUENESS: You just received your Matrix statement.  Remember, your portfolio will ALWAYS look different than your friend’s, unless they come to Matrix also!  Clients who have attended the Investor Education classes already know this!

  1. Fee only MPT (Modern Portfolio Theory) investment costs are not hidden, so they are tax deductible.
  2. There are no front loads, back loads, or surrender fees with MPT.
  3. MPT only uses Structured Funds/Asset Class mutual funds because this type of mutual fund only invests in one level of risk.  These asset class mutual funds give you better diversification as they do not duplicate investments like the retail mutual funds (Fidelity, Putnam, Templeton, American, etc.)
  4. Your MPT portfolio costs are about 50% less than retail mutual funds, because MPT buys and holds for a lifetime.  The longer your portfolio stays the same, the better the returns you get and the less risk you experience.

Example: Clients with the same risk level, who have been with Matrix 5 years, have better returns than clients who have been there 4 years. Four years beats 3 years, 3 years beats 2 yrs, and 2 yrs beats 1 year. This is true for every portfolio risk level.  Once prudently diversified, doing nothing is good!

  1. You have two money managers:
    1. DFA (Dimensional Fund Advisors): buys the stocks and bonds to make up the Structured Mutual Funds.  They buy the whole market, so you basically own the whole market.
    2. Matrix Asset Allocation: Correlates the Structured (DFA) Funds creating the portfolios, and rebalances quarterly.  Buys and sells go through TCA (Trust Company of America).

 DON’T KEEP MPT A SECRET!  If you really care about family and friends, please share our newsletters with them, give your favorite people a CD and Lies Book, and invite them to attend our FREE TRUTHS Classes.

 

TAX SHELTERS: If you are an accredited investor interested in a tax shelter for 2006, you MUST contact our office ASAP as Atlas requires us to request an allotment before the program opens.  This investment is very difficult to get into.

 

CLASSES: The Allendale, Grand Rapids, and Plymouth Spring Client Classes and Free Investment Truth classes were very successful!  The GR attendees, who attended at the Calvin Seminary, thanked us for coming and stated they had never attended a class that gave them such good quality information!  In Plymouth, we taught the Free Investment Truths class in the JoAnn Hulce Center for the Arts building which also is a very nice facility.  Please plan to attend and bring all your loved ones and friends to our next FREE Investment Truths (Separating Myths from Truths) class.  Your family and friends need investment TRUTHs!

The classes will be offered in random order, so watch this newsletter to learn which classes are currently being offered and then RSVP to Joyce and reserve the date on your calendar.  We will try to let you know the next class schedule a quarter in advance.  Class locations might change, if we have a small class. RSVP to Joyce at 734-536-3407, a dates or location could change..

 

Please keep track of your classes. Attached is an updated CLASS LIST to help you track which classes you still have not taken.  These are client only classes. Spouses and partners of clients are welcome!  We encourage clients to attend as many classes as possible, and to repeat any class they desire. When Joyce calls you, she will also remind you which classes you are still missing.

 

NEW TELECONFERENCE CLASSES!  We love your referrals! Many of the new clients you have sent us live throughout the USA, (IN, OR, CA, ID, WA, FL, NH) so we have developed a new class format: TC (Teleconference Classes).  Everyone in WWC needs to be educated in MPT and Life Coaching.  We are happy this is now available to us. These classes are available only for clients and their spouses/partners, and you must register.  Once you RSVP, Joyce will send you the class materials and TC phone instructions.  Please listen to the class CD and complete the class booklet before the class. Your phone call to the TC will be at your typical long distance cost. Please learn how to use your mute and speaker functions on your phone before the class. At the end of the class, you will be instructed to mail to Joyce a copy of your homework in the SASE.   RSVP early, as the teleconference line has a limited number of spots. NOTE: 8 PM ET, 7 PM CT, 6 PM MT, and 5 PM PT.
