HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We are excited about 2005! Once the building sells, you can decide where you would like to meet: your home, your work, Phyllis’ home, at a restaurant for lunch (our treat!), or a conference room at the New Liberty Bank or Edward’s Glass in Livonia . Until our building is sold, we will continue to meet clients there.
INVESTOR EDUCATION SERIES #1
We are offering group classes in the spring and fall. If you have not attended the first 4-week Investor Education Series classes, please get out your calendar and write down these dates!
Plymouth , MI : Tuesdays; March 22 nd & 29 th, and April 5 th, & 12 th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Allendale , MI : Tuesday, April 19 th from 6:30-8:30 PM . We hope to have additional dates soon.
In this first IE series, you will gain clarity on why you are investing in the Modern Portfolio Theory. This class brings about a new awareness of the market: the LIES brokers and the media support, the TRUTHS you need to understand about investing, appropriate expectations of the market, and how to understand risk. The best defense is a good offense, so these basic fundamental truths will help you support your beliefs, especially when someone wants you to change your investment strategy. Someday God will want to take Phyllis to her heavenly home; we want you to know now why investing in the MPT is the right way to invest. Please come, learn with us, and meet other clients just like you. We promise, you will have fun!
MATRIX will soon have Series #2 available, and the Series #1 classes will be a pre-requisite to the new classes. You and your significant other can come to the group classes for FREE, or pay $500 for a private class, one-on-one with Phyllis. If your spouse/partner does not want to attend, you are welcome to come by yourself, or better yet, bring lots of friends!
Yes, Clients with spouses/partners are FREE! Friends you send to the classes save 50% ($50, which does not even cover the material costs). New people who do not come through a client referral pay $100. All fees are tax deductible, as investment advisory expenses!
Contact Lynn now to get registered and to get 50% off the class registration costs for your family and friends. We do need an exact count, as we purchase the materials from MATRIX for each family/household. Only two can share materials.
FEE LIFE INSURANCE
Do you know someone who needs life insurance? We are working with a Fee Only Life Insurance advisor, Joseph W. Maczuga. A typical fee cash value life insurance policy will have a cash value the very first year, because there are NO commissions. We are very excited about this relationship. You also can write off your life insurance fees, right along with your investment advisor fees, on your 1040 Miscellaneous Deduction section. Insurance is a vital part of the comprehensive planning function and our alliance enables Joe to be available for analysis and assistance to our clients.
Mr. Maczuga has over 30 years experience, he is the Executive Director of the Fee Planners Network, and works with full disclosure, no-load policies. We suggest that you contact him at (248) 524-4140 for an informative discussion on any life insurance need you or your family/friends might have. Joe has known Phyllis since the mid-80s and Phyllis
purchased her and Jerry’s last cash value policy through Joe. When you call, make sure you tell Joe you are a Wordhouse client, so you get the royal treatment!
STRESS REDUCING ALTERNATIVE INVESTING
In this current chaotic market, with people losing trillions of dollars, how has your investment experience contrasted with others? How much more
CONTENTMENT and
PEACE OF MIND do you have about investing, now that you have been with MATRIX Asset Allocation/Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) for a few years?
It’s time to tell others about your newfound happiness and wealth coaching experiences. Who in your life would you like to share your feelings and successes with? Who else would like more
PEACE OF MIND and less
FINANCIAL STRESS: your parents, parent’s friends, siblings, children, relatives, ministers, co-workers, church leaders, neighbors, best friends, and/or church friends? Yes, share the good news with everyone you care about, introduce them to MPT!!
We need your help and frustrated investors need your help. There are only a few Wealth Coaches teaching investors about MPT’s, “Stress Reducing Alternative Investing”. Please help us spread the good news about investment TRUTHS. Here is a start on some creative ideas to accomplish this goal:
- Public Investor Education classes: Held each spring and fall. You can attend as many times as you desire and bring as many friends, relatives, and neighbors as you wish. Remember, repetition is the mother of knowledge! Every time you hear the story, you become more comfortable with the TRUTH!
- Private Classes: Invite us to speak to the groups (6+ members) you belong to: luncheons at work, charities, senior high school classes (esp. those that teach the stock market game), staff meetings, Women’s Bible Study, Adult Sunday School, Sequoia, PTA, Wednesday night classes at church, associations, luncheon with parents, Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, and Chambers of Commerce. What groups/associations do you belong to? Do you care about their members’ happiness?
- Work: Not happy with your retirement plan at work? Find out whom the decision makers are, and invite us in to introduce MPT to them. If they want to set up a meeting, MATRIX will do an analysis for your Retirement Benefits Committee. It would be ideal to have MATRIX offered at work!
- Luncheons: Set up a date for the person/couple you plan to introduce to WWC. Call Lynn to invite us to join you and we will gladly pick up tab. Please keep this meeting to just 1-2 new individuals so we can talk about their personal needs.
- Family Dinners: Invite WWC to sponsor a family dinner with you and your adult heirs. Your heirs need to know about MPT before they inherit your wealth, as you would not want your assets to go back into stock picking and market timing strategies.
- Read & Give: Purchase the book “The Successful Investor Today: 14 Simple Truths You Must Know When You Invest, by Larry E. Swedroe. Read this book first, then it to everyone who asks you how you invest.
- MATRIX Handouts: We will soon have a CD, Seven Deadly Investor Traps Habits and an Investor Awareness Guide that you can give to your interested family and friends. If you would like a copy(s) when they arrive, please contact Lynn so she can put your name on the list. Please tell her how many sets you need.
REFERRALS/INTRODUCTIONS
Potential new clients have homework before their 1-hour complimentary appointment. When you or a referral contacts Lynn and desires a first appointment, Lynn will send them a CD Seven Deadly Investor Traps to listen to and a booklet called the Investor Awareness Guide to read. If after listening and reading these items they desire to go ahead with the appointment, they have already determined that we are a good fit for their needs. If not, neither of us has wasted time.
HIGHER IRA/ROTH MAXIMUMS
For 2005, the IRS has raised the maximum you can contribute to your IRA or Roth to $4000 (under 50) and $4500 (over 50). Please make sure you adjust your contributions immediately to take advantage of these savings! Especially the ROTH savings, which will never be taxed again! Contact Lynn now if you have not already signed your increased ROTH automatic bank withdrawal request and returned it to her. This is extremely important for investors who want money to work hard for them.
ADVISORY FEES FORM
We recently sent you the Advisory Fees Form to calculate the amount you can claim on your Federal 1040 Miscellaneous Deductions line as Investment Advisory Fees. Please call Lynn if you have any questions. We are happy to include your fees amounts already tabulated for you by MATRIX, if your fees are deducted automatically from your account.
MONEY
TO CHILDREN
For the parents/senior citizens that give their children money every year, now is the time to share your wealth. Once you pass away, your estate can no longer give or claim the $11,000 annual tax-free gift exemption per giver. You can give more, but the amount over $11,000 will reduce your lifetime exemption. Contact Phyllis with questions.
IRA INVESTORS, ARE YOU OVER 70 ½?
Remember to take your required minimum distribution (RMD) by the 12/31 of every year, especially if you just turned 721/2 and also took your first distribution in April. You MUST do two distributions you first year! EVERY IRA owner over 70 1/2 MUST take a minimum IRA distribution and claim these monies on their taxes. If in doubt of your amount, contact Lynn and she can check with TCA (Trust Company of America ). The penalty for NOT taking your RMD is a 50% tax! So, take your money now! If you don’t need the money, maybe gift the money to your grandchildren (who earned money this year) to help them start their ROTH IRAS, or consider a gift to your favorite charity!
ROTH INVESTORS You have NO RMD at 70 1/2! You have already paid your taxes.
MORE MONEY TO INVEST?
We are excited to announce that since we moved to MATRIX Asset Allocation, everyone is happier! The returns have consistently outperformed the market and our portfolios are all experiencing lower investment risks. If you have additional monies in other accounts,
please get with Lynn now to do the paperwork to move those accounts over to MATRIX. For best results, all your money needs to be in the MPT (Modern Portfolio Theory) strategy. It makes no sense to have some working hard for you at lower risk, and other monies either not working hard at all (savings and CD’s) or taking high risks for lower returns (S&P). Contact Lynn now to move all “frozen” retirement accounts, CD’s, savings, mutual funds, annuities, or any other type of accounts to MATRIX.
PAY YOUR MATRIX ADVISORY FEES BY CREDIT CARD
More and more of our clients are having MATRIX bill their advisory fees to their credit cards. We encourage this practice as long as you pay off your credit cards each month. It also helps your investments grow because there are fewer deductions from the accounts. Plus, you hopefully get airline miles or some other perks with your credit card purchases. Contact Lynn now to get this set up for you.
